Sister Anna Chan

Sister Anna Chan

I was born in Toronto, but I’ve lived here in Ottawa since 2000. I used to work in retail management in the high-end clothing and shoes industry until God became a priority. I gave a year as a missionary to youth in Canada through NET Ministries before becoming a sister of the Servants of the Cross, where I currently serve as Mother Superior.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology and another in Philosophy, as well as a Certificate in Trauma and Addiction Studies. I love learning about leadership from the greats like Patrick Lencioni, Craig Groeschel, and Carey Nieuwhof.

I’m currently the Coordinator of Pastoral Ministries at St. Mary’s Parish, where I work with a great team of parish leaders who support the ministries of the parish. I’m in charge of leadership formation of ministers and I coordinate the ministries’ efforts to work and collaborate with each other .

Favourite saint

You should see my list! I have more than 75 older brothers and sisters (the saints) whose intercession I invoke every day.

Favourite travel destination

Assisi, Italy. Home of St. Francis, St. Claire, and the Franciscans.

Favourite movie

Moana (I influenced one of my male leaders to watch it!)

Hidden talent

I make pretty good pour-through coffee, camping-style at home.

On my birthday, don’t give me…

…stilettos or makeup.
