Holy Week / Easter Triduum Registration

Holy Week / Easter Triduum Registration

Greetings Everyone,

We are delighted with how quickly registration filled for Masses and services throughout the Triduum. It seems everyone is anxious to celebrate the passion, death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour! Even though Ottawa is moving to the “Red/Restrict” Zone tomorrow (Fri March 19), religious services can still be held with capacity at 30% which is much better than where we were one year ago.

There have been some questions about the registration process for Triduum Masses and liturgies. In consultation with the pastor, the registration team set the process such that people could only register for ONE of the four services. This was to ensure that every parishioner had the opportunity to attend at least one service between Holy Thursday and the Easter Vigil. Quickest to the computer did not seem most equitable or just – i.e., one person manages to register at four liturgies before another can register at even one.

If anyone was NOT able to register for one of these four Masses/liturgies, please contact us at: cellgroupleaders@stmarysottawa.ca , or reply to your “registration is open” email from Flocknote.  We ask that you only do this if you were not able to register for ANY of the four time slots. If you have registered for one service but prefer to attend another, we cannot make changes at this time. Please understand that this might cause us to be inundated with emails and we do not want to make decisions about who gets what. That would not be just or fair. What we can do is this: once we attend to anyone who has not registered for any of the four liturgies, we will open registration once again, on Monday March 22 at noon to offer any remaining seats. Please note that there will NOT be many seats available. The vast majority of parishioners will still only be attending one service.

One final note, registration for Easter Sunday Masses will open as for any other Sunday Mass – on Tuesday of that same week. And as Fr Mark has reminded us – Easter is 8 days long! If Easter Sunday Masses are full, you are welcome to come on Monday through Friday of Easter Week!

In Christ,

St. Mary’s Parish Registration Team
