Homilies by Fr. Ken Lao, CC (Page 4)

What Enslave You?
Our natural inclination is to go back. But, we were created for freedom. The Lord wants to set us free so we can experience the fullness of life, joy, and peace.

Do These Five Things When Facing Temptation
All of us are tempted. The enemy is cunning, powerful, and very patient. He finds an opportune time to tempt us when we are vulnerable, tired, lonely, angry, and hungry. We need to be watchful when we are vulnerable.
Love is Our Brand
I hope when people see us they see the love in us.

You Will be Empowered
Do you believe you are beloved sons and daughters of God?
Identity Before Mission
If we are secure in our identity, it will empower us to do the mission that God has called us to do.
What if?
What if Jesus was not born? What if we didn’t receive this greatest gift? God loves us so much that he gave us his only Son. He is the greatest gift to us. What is our response? Cherish this gift. Receive this gift and grow in relationship with him. Deepen your faith in him and share the gift with others.
Allow Jesus to Reign
Do we allow Jesus to reign in our lives?
Give It All
Detach yourselves from your self-will. It will cost a lot. Whenever we offer up our self-will, we will be crucified.
Blindness
“What do you want me to do for you?”

Detach
Many of us have attachments. Here are 3 keys to detachment. Willingness is the key – “Not ready Lord, but willing.” (Fr. Bob Bedard, CC) Grow in intimacy with the Lord – Intimacy with the Lord will help us with our detachments. Strive for progress, not perfection – We will not be fully detached from the things of this world during this life. When we die we will be fully detached.
