Homilies by Fr. Ken Lao, CC (Page 5)

Detach
Many of us have attachments. Here are 3 keys to detachment. Willingness is the key – “Not ready Lord, but willing.” (Fr. Bob Bedard, CC) Grow in intimacy with the Lord – Intimacy with the Lord will help us with our detachments. Strive for progress, not perfection – We will not be fully detached from the things of this world during this life. When we die we will be fully detached.
Tune In
God is speaking to us all the time. The signal is strong and clear. Sometimes, when we turn the radio on all we hear is static or a bunch of stations combined together and we can’t hear. The Lord is always speaking. The signal is strong and clear. We need to tune in. We need to tune in to the right radio frequency. Tune out all other signals that will leads us to chaos and confusion.

Share Jesus
We need to know Jesus personally before we can share that with others. We can’t give what we don’t have. Our one purpose in life is to share Jesus!
Improve Your Commitment
Here are three things that we can do to improve in our commitment to serve the Lord.
We Need Spiritual Food
We need spiritual strength to make this journey. Whatever trials, sufferings, and pain we endure during this life will be worth it when we reach the mountain top. Whatever we will see in Heaven is beyond our comprehension.
The Bread of Life
Do we believe that Jesus can satisfy our hunger and thirst?
Do You Want a Life of Adventure?
Do you want to live a life of adventure? Do the mission of Jesus. Heal the sick. Cast out demons.
Unleash the Power
If we had that faith in Jesus, it will unleash the power to perform miracles in our lives.
U.P.S
Are we becoming more like Jesus as we receive communion? Are we becoming who we eat?
Power A.R.M
Use this acronym every day. If we follow this, we will be flammable with the love of Christ.
