News Update – 2021.07.30

Dear Parishioners,

As you may know, we recently changed the seating arrangement at Church, opening every two pews rather than every three. Previously, we were well below the capacity guidelines; with this change, we are slightly below the maximum allowed. Mass attendees are asked to follow the instructions on the video “Staggering Announcement” found on the  COVID-19 Update page on the St. Mary’s Website.

Fr. Mark Goring

Sunday Masses will be as follows:

  • Saturday 5 p.m. – Outdoor, no registration required.
  • Sunday 9 a.m., & 11 a.m., – Indoor, registration required. A “registration open” email will be sent out at 12:00pm Wednesday.

9 & 11 a.m. Mass will be broadcast through the radio frequency 88.3 and can be heard within 300m anywhere around the church. Participants will be able to receive the Holy Eucharist during communion.

Please note:

The Parish office will be closed to the public and working on a curbside model of service. Please call 613 728 9811 to make an appointment.

Outdoor Confessions

Masonry-Siding Reconstruction Work Begins!

Masonry-Siding Reconstruction:  Please note that work is about to begin to repair masonry siding of the church that is most in need. As of July 26, the elevator entrance door and the main front door will be fenced off to facilitate these repairs. Parishioners will enter the vestibule and nave of the church from the north side entrance closest to the front stairs.

Many thanks to all of our Wider Reach Campaign donors for making these repairs possible. This project is expected to be completed by the end of November 2021.

The elevator will not be available as of Monday July 26th.

Stories of Hope

Once more, we would like to take this opportunity to thank CCO; Catholic Christian Outreach  missionaries who have recently shared their own personal testimonies with us and provided training on how to write our own personal testimonies.  For those who missed hearing the CCO testimonies at the weekday masses, please note that you will be able to view them on the St Mary`s you tube channel playlist under Operation Testify, this coming week.

St Mary’s will be officially launching the Stories of Hope initiative on August 1, 2021 until Advent.

Do you know your story?  Are you ready, have you made a decision and are you willing to testify to others so that others may come to know Him?

We are inviting all St Mary`s parishioners to consider writing and sharing their own 3 minute personal testimonies.

For those who are interested, CCO has provided us with a step-by-step process that you can follow in order to help you write your own 3 minute personal testimony, available here

Should you want to share your 3 minute video with us, you can do so at the following link:  https://forms.gle/9LbwoU8dCX7qJfxFA

The Pope’s Monthly Intention for August – The Church

Let us pray for the Church, that she may receive from the Holy Spirit the grace and strength to reform herself in the light of the Gospel.

What is the Pope’s Worldwide  Prayer Network?

The Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network (Apostleship of Prayer) addresses the challenges facing humanity and assists the mission of the Church. We pray and work to meet the challenges of the world identified by the Pope in his monthly intentions, while walking a spiritual path called the “Way of the Heart.”   Visit https://popesprayerusa.net/ to learn more.
