Journey of Discovery: Spiritual Gifts Workshop

May 17-18

Discover how God has gifted you for service! The Journey of Discovery is a hands-on workshop that will help you discern your spiritual gifts and equip you to use them. You’ll leave with a fuller understanding of your role in God’s plan and a greater conviction of your vocation and purpose.

Songs for Life: Pro-lIfe Coffee House

Tuesday, May 7th | 7:00 pm | St. Mary’s Parish Hall

As part of March for Life week, Campaign Life Coalition along with St. Mary’s Parish is hosting their second annual Songs for Life coffee house. Enjoy an intimate evening of live music from local musicians and artists and refreshments all while supporting a great cause. Join us on May 7th at 7pm at the St. Mary’s Parish Hall (100 Young Street). Admission is free with a baby item or donation or a free will offering.

Praying for Vocations

Sunday is World Day of Prayer for Vocations. Let us pray for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and to religious life. If you are discerning a call to the priesthood, reach out to Fr. Alex Colautti, CC, the vocations director for the Companions of the Cross.

National March for Life

Thursday, May 9th

The theme for this year’s 27th National March for Life in Ottawa is “I Will Never Forget You”. View the full schedule from May 5 to 10 inclusive at march for life.ca. Join the Parliament Hill Rally on May 9th at 12:30 PM, followed by the march through Ottawa streets at 1:30 PM. See also details about the Rose Dinner Gala the same evening, and the Youth Summit the following day.

Action Life: Hike for Life

Saturday, April 27th

Action Life’s 35th Annual Hike for Life – 5 km route along part of the Rideau Canal takes place Saturday, April 27th. This is a major fundraiser for Ottawa’s pro-life educational resources group, rain or shine. Registration takes place from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 27th, in St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, 95 Somerset St. West. This is a fun event for the whole family featuring refreshments and prizes. Green posters with pledge forms are available near entrances to the church, and at the pro-life bulletin board in the church hall. If you are unable to participate, please consider supporting Helena Szakowski, our parish’s lead hiker. Pledges of $15.00 or more are eligible for a tax receipt. VBS is back at St. Mary’s this Summer!

July 22-26

St. Mary’s Kids is bringing back Vacation Bible School (VBS) this summer! A full week of enthusiastically Catholic fun for kids ages 4-12 is coming to St. Mary’s Parish from July 22nd-26th. The theme for this year’s VBS, is “Come to the Table”, focusing on the Eucharist.


Screening of ROE Canada: The Documentary
